@AtticusGF Look up Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything series. Fantastic books, lots of ‘basics’ but also good technique and time management, which as a new cook takes forever to figure out. Cook with Jamie is also a good ‘getting into the thick of how this works’ book.

yeah I dunno I’ve explained to our daughter a couple times that bacon comes from the pigs she thinks are so cute and that hasn’t seemed to impact her enthusiasm for bacon
