At 9:21p on 7/3, TFD responded to a reported structure fire in the 1300 block of Tharpe St. Upon arrival, crews found a 3-story apartment building with fire in a 2nd-floor unit. They made entry & quickly extinguished a kitchen fire, preventing further damage. All occupants safe.

Students in the Leon High School Fire Academy participated in a "Burn Day" with our partners at Tallahassee Fire. This unique program offers high school students an opportunity to accelerate in to their career as a senior. We are commitment to workforce development at LCS.

Yesterday, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded alongside our first responder partners to the reports of an active shooting incident at FSU. Our crews were quickly on scene to provide emergency care to those injured and to assist wherever we were needed.

The @FloridaState campus has been secured. Multiple law enforcement agencies remain on site for the ongoing investigation. The Student Union & surrounding area are still considered an active crime scene. Individuals should not return to the area for any reason. (1/2)
