I'm thankful that I could write this story. It reminded me that change doesn't just happen, it takes amazing people to make it work: bit.ly/3op2H39

On #NationalLinemanAppreciationDay, LG&E and KU recognize and honor Leon Smith, a pioneer in the company's history. Leon was Kentucky Utilities first African American lineman. He started his first day on the job in December of 1970. #ThankaLineworker #ThankaLineman

A view into what must have been a harrowing place to be just 12 hours ago. Apartment in South Louisville with the roof peeled off after strong storms and a tornado hit the Louisville area. @courierjournal with @Utterback13

The outage map for @lgeku lets you zoom into an area. There are still scattered outages, but by last night more than 99% of those who lost power in Friday's historic windstorm had been restored. Crews are working on the last remaining areas. More: lge-ku.com/storm

Be cautious when clearing fallen tree limbs and debris from your yard after a storm. Avoid making contact with branches or debris that may be in contact with downed power lines. If you see a downed line, please stay away.

Appreciate @MayorGorton for her help & coordination during the third largest storm event for @lgeku in 20 years. We've gone from a total of 370,000+ customers losing power on Friday to about 40,000 Tuesday morning. Crews are grateful how folks understand & appreciate their work.

From 346,000 LG&E and KU customers losing power on late Friday afternoon to now, on Monday morning, we're down to about 45,000 KU customers still out. We hope to make significant progress today. For folks still without power, it's frustrating, but crews are working hard.
LG&E and KU@lgeku

Our crews continue to work around the clock to safely restore power to the communities we’re proud to serve. We continue to make progress - out of the more than 346,000 customers impacted, more than 222,000 customers across our service area have been restored as of this evening.
