كل قادة إقليم كوردستان باركوا فوز المنتخب العراقي، ويحرصون على رفع علم العراق خلفهم، كما أن العلم العراقي مرفوع في جميع الدوائر الحكومية وغير الحكومية داخل إقليم كردستان.
أما الفئة القليلة جدًا التي تبرر إهانة علم العراق في أربيل، فهي لا تمثل شعب كوردستان، بل مجرد حسابات وهمية تسعى إلى التحريض، وغالبًا ما تُدار من خارج البلاد دون الجرأة على كشف هوياتها خوفًا من المساءلة القانونية.
