This is on the war on drugs. But their article is vastly wide ranging. It covers everything from the stagflation/nixon years all the way up to obama in the economic section and then later on has a detailed and insightful section on politics and society. These guys are diligent.

@itsBrettG @x00ge_ii63 Doesn’t go there to industrialize per se and if asia is becoming a center of inter imperialist conflict this doesnt mean industrialization opportunities. Historically as around the world heavy industry and military production can’t support industrialization alone.

@detail_relation It's a very difficult problem. If you think it's a big issue getting communists to reorient themselves from labor to free time, imagine how difficult it is to reorient "labor unions" and the "labor movement" to free time, especially with government interference.

Well, the disappearance of unions from American life solved this problem. We no longer need debate whether unions can be more than limited instruments since even as limited instruments they are no longer relevant.

i think communists in the US oftentimes speak about the limits of 'trade-unionism' (or advocacy for labor unions), but from what I can tell this is largely cope. Labor unions are part-and-parcel for class struggle and attaining the minimum program of any party.
