Very few African startups build products at scale.
So engineering practice is capped, thus engineering knowledge sharing is capped.
We're decades away from leading engineering innovation, and the gap only gets wider with AI.

Why don’t we have this kind of blog posts from our African big tech and startups?

So I went on a date with a tech guy, you know, the kind that gets excited about clean code and thinks emotional vulnerability is a bug. And mid-way through the date, he hits me with “you are kind of weird. I feel like I’m at the job interview.”
Like what? That’s not weird. That’s called having standards. Sorry I asked you what your five year plan instead of giggling at your Python joke.
But like, should I be offended? Or take it as a compliment? Because on one hand, yeah, maybe I was a bit straightforward. But on the other hand, he showed up in a hoodie and talked about some situation at work and people I don't even know for like solid 30 minutes. If asking “What do you value in a partner?” feels like a job interview, maybe you are only qualified for internships where your main responsibility is making coffee!

@trikcode This is so true sometimes its just that you have to stop comparing yourself with others

@FabrizioRomano One Europa loss and he will be sacked. That’s just how Manchester United is.
