The last time .@mkeadmirals won on New Year's Eve was Dec. 31, 2008 at Peoria. @dexshow had 29 saves. Kelsey Wilson, Mike Santorelli & Jed Ortmeyer scored goals.
It was a stretch of 17 games in 26 days for Admirals (Dec. 26-Jan. 24). The game on 31st was 5th in 6 nights.

That’s not what development is
This isn’t for a month before tryouts to “tune up.”
You don’t do this for a few weeks in preparation for a tryout

@GregBalloch Interesting article.Injuries so multi-factorial that probably all of those points & more (except “less guys are playing hurt”).Think of the increased forces at joints as players average height/weight increases over time. Knowledge of FAI is good but preemptive hip remodel isn’t.

Solid breakdown here of the challenges modern goalies face with injuries. It’s a mix of point 1 and 3 for me.
It’s no secret the evolution of modern technique is ruining hips, but we’re also more aware of hip issues due to increased availability of FAI surgery.

The notion that youth shouldn’t lift “heavy” weights is misguided. Heavy is relative. Heavy for me might be light for you. The “no heavy weights” crowd are usually the ones who make 12-year-olds do 50 push ups after a practice drill when 1 push up is “too heavy” to be done well
