Just imagine the score if Triple’s Alley wasn’t a thing. I think it’s time we have this conversation again.

Do you want Warriors to take guard/playmaker at 11?

@BaseballJeff1 If we are doing this to make comparisons, it’s pretty early and milky never won a championship. But also, we know that mully was working for one of the worst owners of all time. Much more nuance in giants situation. Same ownership grp, diff maj owners

Random question. Did Chris Mullin's run as the head of the Warriors' front office affect his legacy? His tenure was more bad than good due in part to poor ownership, and he oversaw the "We Believe" Warriors. I barely even think of this when I see him on TV.

@MrGeorgeWallace I actually think a lot of these people have become the emotional support animal for these dogs. Is that something? And whatnot?

Why the hell do you need your emotional support dog in the damn Olive Garden? Those unlimited breadsticks got you stressed the fuck out?

@MiroslavCuk Luck has always come into play. I think this was your point. All championship runs involve luck. Can we stop trying to add asterisks to everything?

The Warriors were incredibly lucky to be able to sign KD because of a cap spike that will never happen again. OKC was lucky to have all those picks when CBA made picks incredibly valuable. SAS were lucky to get picks 1, 2, and 4 in consecutive years before it was made illegal.

@BDPeacock I know that the advanced analytics (whatever those actually are) say this is somehow better, but I just can't be convinced that I am supposed to enjoy it more. Also, when everyone throws 100mph, its also not fun to watch

@timkawakami I teach 9th grade English. The writing on those sites look like what my most average students turn in (who are probably using AI haha)

Sorry. I'm mean. But every time I get pushed to an aggregation site, I can't believe how terrible the writing is. Every single click-bait BS story is just horrendous writing. Might be AI. Might be terrible writers who sound like bad AI. Garbage-clicks = garbage writing.

@samesfandiari 2. Owners were dumping bad signings for small salaries and picks: now we have salary matching in trades. But 1st rounders are super valuable? But they don’t really count in trades? And if you are over the cap there is no way to get under really.

@samesfandiari There are a few more: 1. Cheap owner keeps selling off 1st round draft picks because he doesn’t want to pay them: can’t trade 2 in a row (except now there is a cap on those salaries so no one would sell those off for bad reasons)

I would care less about new lotto rules if nba didn’t kill FA and trades as viable team building avenues with all the parity CBA bs. Everything is reactive. No one thinks systemically or bigger picture. awful

@therealjcheng @TommyGunnNBA So much this! Westbrook has some sneaky low bball iq. So does kd. And even Harden. They can pile up stats but actually understanding the game and being able to see two passes ahead? Nope

Unironically, this is a pretty good explanation for a lot of the discourse surrounding Kuminga. His biggest fans see his eye-popping vertical athleticism as reason to believe he can be a STAR… when in reality, it just establishes his floor as a role player. But, his “lack” of feel relative to most stars in the league is what stop him from having star/superstar potential.
Latif Love@realLatifLove

Athleticism (especially vertical athleticism) is often discussed as a ceiling-raising trait, but in reality, it's closer to establishing a floor for a prospect. Processing, feel, IQ, cognition, or whatever word you want to use regarding basketball intelligence is what raises a prospect's ceiling. That’s why I struggle with the idea that the prospect with a computer for a brain has such a limited ceiling.

@samesfandiari It is just painfully obvious they didn't learn from Jerry West. He said something along the lines of looking for at least one at least skill. Klay's shooting was the example I remember. What was Wiseman's? What was Kuminga's? I think this was your point a few days ago.

@samesfandiari They need to start getting rid of some of the rules now. Get rid of salary matching in trades. Or let teams trade as many draft picks as they want.

@bigkino217 @olddirty_baroo Wiseman was also made of glass apparently. Needed to play to get better, but was so bad when he played he made the whole team worse. Then he kept getting hurt. Worst possible combination of circumstances for that pick. Should’ve traded it but no one really wanted it enough

@olddirty_baroo Podz played as a rookie. Tjd played as a rookie. Post played as a rookie. Richard played as a rookie. Idk where this narrative comes from that Kerr won’t play young guys. He just won’t play you if you’re doing stupid shit that hurts the team

@TommyGunnNBA I honestly don’t know what the dubs need most right now. My theory for years has been a ball handler with size. Someone who compliments Steph in the backcourt. Your thoughts on needs?
