Today, we commissioned the fully regenerated Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, alongside other key projects led by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who represented His Excellency President Bola Tinubu. We have transformed a cluster of 36 public schools into a functional and dignified learning environment. With new classroom blocks, rehabilitated buildings, a vocational centre, science laboratories, and an ICT hub, we have addressed overcrowding and improved the overall learning experience. This complex has a long history, dating back to 1981, and has served generations of students. Over time, it became overstretched. We made a deliberate decision to change that and give it a new lease of life. It was encouraging to see the excitement on the faces of the students today. The joy and excitement is the reason why we do the work we do. Every child in Ajeromi-Ifelodun deserves a safe, modern, and inspiring place to learn. We also commissioned the Maracana Stadium, now renamed in honour of President Bola Tinubu, and highlighted the Fresh Food Hub in Abijo, which will improve access to affordable food for families. We will keep investing in projects that make a real difference in people’s lives.

With just over 400 days left in this administration, we remain focused on making every day count. Out of the 2,922 days Lagosians entrusted to us, we have spent more than 2,500 working to leave Lagos better than we met it. Along the way, we have been guided by the example of a leader who once governed this state and laid the foundation we continue to build on today. Today, three projects that will make a real difference in the lives of Lagosians were commissioned by His Excellency President Bola Tinubu who was represented by the President of the Senate, Chief Godswill Akpabio. The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge is a major step forward for mobility in our city. For years, this corridor has been one of the busiest and most difficult parts of our transport network. This new connection will ease congestion, shorten travel time, and make daily life less stressful for thousands of people. The Lagos Geographic Information Service Building takes us further away from outdated, paper-based systems and brings greater transparency and efficiency to land administration. The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex brings key government services together in one place. This will improve coordination, speed up service delivery and create a better working environment for public servants. These projects reflect how we approach governance. We focus on real problems and deliver practical solutions. What matters most is results that people can see and feel. I want to thank everyone who made these projects possible, from the engineers and contractors to the public servants who remained committed from start to finish. There is still more to do, and we are not slowing down. In the time we have left, we will keep building and keep working to improve the quality of life for every Lagosian. I am proud of what we have achieved so far, and grateful for the support of Mr. President, whose leadership and reforms continue to make a real difference, not only in Lagos, but across Nigeria.

These SGLT2i are turning out to be quite the blockbuster drug. Efficacious in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and renal disease and may progress to becoming first line in one or all of these conditions. Those of us in resource poor settings will have to wait for access sadly.
