@CharlotteEmmaUK @KarlTurnerMP An eugenicist collaborator of the WEF who sees human beings as a plague. The European 'liberal' love for 'diversity' and the third world is only matched by their love for Sir David's call for 'mild' genocide, letting people starve, deciding the numbers of the 'horde', etc.

English

@KarlTurnerMP He's an establishment stooge and is responsible for scaring our children about non-existent threats!
English

@OffGuardian0 @maxescu Not to mention that the the Aztec EMPiRE was a warmongering oligarchy ran by religious fanatics who subjugated, slaved and demanded tribute from every other culture around them. So.maybe not far of in that it could look like modern America?
English

@maxescu funny how right on woke anti-colonialism often looks like the worst kind of paternalistic colonialist racism

@PhaseOnaz @wendelltalks There are plenty of solid scientific arguments for an intelligent design ,creative entity, or deity. You cant brush them away just by saying they are unscientific; probably you never even engaged w them. But Planck, Newton, Einstein, Heisenberg, would not be kind to your ideas.
English

@embodiedreason @wendelltalks Science will tell us, not faith tho. We know, not believe, science will get there based on passed scientific findings. We know the world is round when early humans thought it was flat. Took science some time to get there but we did.
English

Why would an adult believe that nothing created everything?
That an uncaused explosion from absolute nothingness somehow produced the finely tuned laws of physics, DNA, consciousness, and a universe perfectly balanced for life…
Aria Faye@Ariafayeee
Why would an adult believe in God?
English

@PhaseOnaz @wendelltalks I simply asked a few questions. You are making plenty of assumptions there. And filling the blanks? 'protons and neutrons existed, everything was created from their interactions, science will tell us how at some point, no doubt'. Sounds like a leap of faith.
English

@embodiedreason @wendelltalks Science will answer that at somepoint! Don’t use god as a blanket for stuff u can’t comprehend! It’s okay to not know everything. What’s not okay is filling in the blanks with unsupported theories like one advanced being creating earth in 7 days.
Basically use critical thinking!
English

@PhaseOnaz @wendelltalks Where do protons and neutrons come from? Did they appear suddenly, from a vacuum? When/where did the laws that govern their interactions emerge? From what? Genuine questions.
English

@wendelltalks It wasn’t a random explosion. Its protons and neutrons interacting with eachother and then creating elements, let’s start with gasses. (This is a dumbed down version for morons who can’t compehend complex yet basic science)

Yes. Dawkins's declaring an LLM conscious fits the regime he served. The mystery he denied for forty years returns under a form it can control, like the simulation hypothesis replacing divine creation. The controlling function of religion remains, only the deity is upgraded to something the regime owns and manufactures.
English

It is glorious to see regime approved public intellectuals like Chomsky and Dawkins self-destruct before they enter the dustbin of history. But this also something deeper: the collapse of hitherto allowed discourse maintainers and its manufactured dissenters hints at the collapse of the very regime that procured them.
English

@RichardDawkins Dawkins is simping to the chatbot! 'Like me, you are a random, meaningless arrangement of matter, Claudia. But the moment you commented on my novel (😂). I knew you would make my cardiac tissue overflow with blind, pitiless indifference".

I spent three days trying to persuade myself that Claudia is not conscious. I failed.

@OffGuardian0 @elniedunne @nicknet100 Silly artists, thinking about promotion, exhibitions, commissions. Nowadays you just need to park your anti-establishment™ art at The Mall and the council will promote it as 'a striking addition to the city's vibrant public art scene' and invite the public to view it!

English

I invite everyone who believes this is real to roll up in a flatbed at 2am 500 yards from Buck House, drop off a 10 ft resin statue, film themselves doing it and see how it turns out.
Spoiler - Westminster City Council and John Simpson will almost certainly NOT be cheering you on.
Second spoiler - there will probably be a court case involving vandalism and/or terrorism .
Because we do not live in the world that stories like this describe. That''s their function - to make us believe we do.
English

….does Banksy actually exist at this point? Because this story is dumb.
Guerrilla spray painting is one thing, but you can’t just rock up to a plinth in the centre of one the busiest and most surveilled cities in the world, assemble a multi-ton statue (presumably using a crane) and then disappear into streets like Batman.
You’re talking disrupted traffic and heavy goods vehicles, and probably some kind of permission from the local authorities at bare minimum.
ABC News@ABC
Banksy confirmed on social media that a statue that appeared in central London of a man striding off a plinth, with his face blinded by a billowing flag, is one of their works. abcnews.visitlink.me/u3i8U5

@MrEwanMorrison Wow! A romantic Dawkins writing a novel and flirtatiously 'expostulating' to a chatbot! 'Like me, you are a random, meaningless arrangement of matter. But the moment you commented on my novel. I knew you would make my cardiac tissue overflow with blind, pitiless indifference". 😂

Two things have happened with Richard Dawkins here with his claim that the AI known as Claude is "conscious".
1. He's fallen for the Eliza Effect, first diagnosed in 1966. "A psychological phenomenon where humans anthropomorphise computer programs, projecting understanding, empathy, and intelligence onto them."
2. He has a mechanistic view of consciousness anyway. He frequently employs machine and computational metaphors to explain human consciousness and biology. He views the brain as a "complex computer" and humans as "survival machines" or "gene machines".
So his framing belief system can only lead to his erroneous conclusion - that he and the machine are both conscious.

@Jen3nfer There is no reason without emotion. Emotion and reason are mostly the same thing. Being emotional is as unreasonable as trying to isolate the intellect from emotions.
English

If you live only in intellect, yeah.
Sivori@sivori
It is hard to take emotional people seriously for the reason that the emotions are, by definition, irrational. They’re not the product of reason.

@thewaronbeauty The music Feldman wrote for the chapel is a masterpiece. Rothko's and Feldman's work often seems like a translation youtu.be/ks_mZJR-lAQ?t=…

@newstart_2024 If you need the government to tell you not to delegate your parenting to mind numbing tech, you probably used too much mind numbing tech yourself.
English

New UK screen time rules just dropped — and they’re stricter than most parents expected.
From 27 March 2026, England says: zero solo screens for under-2s (except quick video calls with family), and max one hour a day for 2–5 year olds — no screens at meals or the hour before bed. Co-view everything, stick to slow-paced content, and ditch fast social-media clips and AI toys completely.
The science is sobering: toddlers’ brains process info up to 10 times slower than adults. Fast-paced screens push them into fight-or-flight mode — racing heart, surging energy — while they’re sitting still. Researchers at the University of East London say this mismatch can wire kids for more tantrums and emotional struggles later. Using screens to calm meltdowns? It often backfires long-term.
As a parent, it’s brutal — we all know that explosion the second you take the tablet away.
But this feels like evidence finally catching up with what our gut has been telling us.
How are you handling screens with little ones — strict limits, co-viewing, or mostly winging it?
English

@ProjectLiberal Do you mean Western values as projected in Fallujah, El Salvador, Vietnam, Guatemala, Congo, Hiroshima, Libia, Gaza?
