If you summon a mob to attack our democracy, you have to lose your job. If you go to Cancun when your fellow Texans are freezing in the dark, you have to lose your job. Tomorrow, we fire Ted Cruz.

This is quite likely the most important thing I've ever written. If you don't usually read my stuff, I invite you to read it. I don't often ask for anything related to my writings, but this piece is an exception. My ask is this: Please share it. open.substack.com/pub/fosterthin…

My Final Plea To EVERY Voter: I come from the populist GOP base. I voted for Trump in 2016. When I publicly turned against Trump in 2018, I took a blowtorch to my career. I lost everything. But I did it bcuz I believe Trump is everything our Founders feared. He lies every time he opens his mouth, he believes he's above the law, he wants to be an authoritarian, and he's humanly incapable of putting the country's interests first. I'm not asking you to take a blowtorch to your career. But I am asking you to put your country's interests ahead of your own partisan interests. Every day for the past 6 yrs, Republicans have told me, "Yes Joe, Trump is a bad guy, but...but the economy, but my taxes, but the Dems are communists, but...whatever." Trump is way worse than a "bad guy." He's someone you would never work with or work for, someone you would never trust your wife or daughters with, yet you'd put him in the White House? Start with his lying. NO OTHER POLITICIAN lies as much as Trump. He lies every time he opens his mouth. How can you allow your country to be led by someone who lies like that? He has never believed the law applies to him. It's why he took classified docs and obstructed the search for them, and why he committed crimes trying to overthrow the 2020 election. He believes he's above the law. How can you vote for someone who believes he's above the law? He wants to be a dictator. He's pledged to use the military to go after his political opponents, to shut down media outlets he doesn't like, to jail people who burn the American flag...the list goes on & on. A dictator is anathema to America. How can you vote for someone who pledges to be a dictator? Finally, Trump is humanly incapable of putting the country's interests first. He is capable of acting ONLY in his own interests. It's why he so fucked up our response to Covid. He couldn't do what was best for the country when Covid hit. So many Americans died bcuz Trump was only capable of thinking about Trump. It's why when he lost the 2020 election, he couldn't accept the loss & concede. Because HE WAS CAPABLE OF ONLY CARING ABOUT HIMSELF. He couldn't put the country first. How can you vote for someone FOR PRESIDENT who is humanly incapable of putting the country's interests first? And how can you vote for someone who will NEVER concede when he loses an election? He won’t concede again if he loses this year. How can you support someone who refuses to accept the decision of the American people? Trump is the EXACT OPPOSITE of how you raised your children. How can you vote for someone who you told your children NOT to be like in every way? I'm not asking you to do what I did & take a blowtorch to your career. I'm just asking you to put your country's interests ahead of your own. Voting against Trump won't kill YOUR career. Our economy is doing fine right now under Biden/Harris. Crime is down right now. You're doing better financially now than you were when Biden/Harris got elected 4yrs ago, and you know it. All I'm asking u to do is put your country first. Don't put a horrible human being back in the White House. Don't put the chaotic Trump shit show back in the White House. I'm asking you to rise above your own selfish interests. I'm asking you to think beyond yourself. Your personal finances will be just fine. I'm asking you to set an example for your children. Do u really want them to have to ask you one day why you voted for a guy who actually tried to overthrow an American election? Really? Kamala Harris loves this country, she'll defend our democracy, she'll abide by the rule of law, she'll focus on the American people and not herself, and she'll govern from the common sense center. You'll be just fine with her in the White House. 6yrs ago, I took a blowtorch to my career for doing the right thing. But you know what? I'm still standing. I'm okay. Do the right thing. Rise above your partisan interests and do the right thing. You'll be okay too.

The MAHA movement is using nutrition and exercise (which are awesome) as a Trojan horse to promote nonsense: - removing fluoride from water - promoting ineffective therapies (ivermectin for covid etc) - various anti-vax rhetoric We all agree our food environment needs changing. This other stuff is just anti-science and anti-public health.

RFK Jr. is lying. 75+ years of data show fluoride (a natural mineral) prevents tooth decay. Fluoridated water: 0.7 milligrams (mg) per LITER (1,000,000 mg water) A 22 lb baby could drink 57 L water/day before adverse effects. The baby would have water toxicity after 3.2 CUPS.

Bros and politics: two worlds that didn't use to mix. But here we are, with the Donkey Boys rolling up to the polls in jacked up trucks, fueled by protein shakes and freedom memes. They’re here to “save America,” one flex and conspiracy theory at a time. open.substack.com/pub/fosterthin…

I’m a huge Tony Hinchcliffe fan. I’ve lost some respect for Tony today because his entire thing has always been that in comedy you can say whatever you want in a comedy club and that doesn’t make it real. They’re jokes and people need to grow up if they get offended. But you just brought them into politics. You crossed over the line into the real world at this point. You’re no longer just telling jokes in a club. You’re telling racist jokes to an arena full of people there to be influenced politically. I’m not one to be like boycott this dude! Over him having opinions. You can have opinions that’s fine. But you’ve kind of shit on what is so awesome about comedy by using it politically. This has nothing to do with Trump. I don’t like the dude. But I’d feel this way if I saw John Mulaney doing 5 minutes at a Kamala rally too. Comedy is for roasting these idiots in the comedy club. Not climbing on stage at their rallies.
