@Dman7210 Patients must be informed about all possible treatments and their risks, in order to make an informed decision. This applies to any prescribed medications and those considered ‘unorthodox’. Cancer treatments are never once size fits all.

Incorporating the consumer voice in cancer care is critical to developing responsive, relevant & informed solutions. This is particularly true for people living in regional & remote communities, where access to services, support & specialist care can be limited.

@SamHarkus So, so important to acknowledge and respect all languages. Nurturing one’s native language is fundamental to identity. Linguistic knowledge = connections to the past, our culture, traditional music and rhythms…etc

In the sessions, they acknowledge to that being denied access to language can lead to loss of culture. 'The path to healing (Wolbraning Gnulla Biddi) is through families coming together.' Need to increase community knowledge through resources that have co-designed. #OMOZ2021

Catching up on everything I missed at last week's #OMOZ2021 #OtitisMedia Australia conference. Posting a key take-away or two from each session. Starting with @KelvinKongENT's keynote on building Indigenous capacity. But first, an Acknowledgement of Country from Worimi land.

A kid I saw today was terrified of my mask and visor so I had to pretend I was an astronaut and moonwalk slowly over to him pretending we were all on the moon! It worked
