Good chance you're going to be hearing a lot about Grasp's SPG (Smart Putting Gate) unit on tour this season. Caught Ben Griffin working with it on the practice green in Houston earlier today. The portable unit features a high-speed camera system that captures a face-on view of the putter and ball at impact, along with speed, line and impact data as it rolls through the gate. "The camera allows me to see my stroke and how the ball is rolling," Griffin told me. "I'm also seeing start lines and speed in real-time. It's all the info you'd want out of a putting technology. We haven't seen anything on tour — outside of SAM PuttLab — like this." The unit aims to reduce the guesswork during a putter testing session, providing visual confirmation and real-time data to help a pro determine whether a new wand benefits their stroke. It can also be used from any distance, so a pro can see how much their impact consistency varies from 8 feet and 30 feet. Because it's cloud-based, all video and data are stored for future use, making it possible to see how your impact and speed change during the season.

Well, well, well … spotted @TommyFleetwood1 hitting a few putts with the proto @TaylorMadeGolf Spider F @valerotxopen. One of a few putters in the bag early week. He’s also ditched the Sharpie alignment on his gamer Spider for milled lines and dot. We’ll get in-hands later.
