Death is portrayed so often in films, literature, paintings, and songs. It always feels so close, yet so far. I watched characters wail over the loss of their loved ones and thought I understood what that kind of grief must feel like. Then I went through it in real life. It feels nothing like grieving a l character or empathizing with someone else’s loss. It is an entirely different kind of pain when it is your own loved one. No matter how much you think you’ve prepared yourself, no one is ever truly ready💔
