A lot of conspiracy accounts love pretending the Van Allen belts are some unbeatable force field. They never mention the part that matters: the belts aren’t uniform. They have weak regions, gaps, and low‑density zones. NASA literally plots the flight path to skim the thinnest section so the spacecraft spends only minutes in the mildest radiation. That’s it. No magic. No cover‑up. Just physics and trajectory design. The dose astronauts get is lower than a CT scan. The only thing “deadly” here is how confidently bad info spreads online.

The 4 main differences between the foreign USA and the foreign China from a European perspective 1. China is not laying claim to any territory held by a EU member state 2. China has not actively pushed to start a massive land war on European soil 3. China has not purposely engaged in policies to harm European energy security 4. China does not occupy Europe via post-war treaties and forces on the ground China is not a European ally...but it is definitely not an enemy like the USA obviously is.

In the 1622 massacre of the Virginia settlers, a horrific attack in which the “merciless Indian savages” gained access to English settlements by pretending to be interested in Christianity, then massacred men, women, and children alike The brutal attack wiped out hundreds a settlers, perhaps a quarter or more of the settlers, who had just been managing to move past the Initial rigors of settlement. It also came just at planting time, wreaking agricultural havoc and putting the settlers at risk of starvation The attack was horrific, set the colony back by years, and was savage in the extreme. It also mostly ended Virginian interest in converting the Indians, which up until then had been substantial But fortunately for us the Virginians didn’t give in. Instead they collected themselves behind the walls of Jamestown and then blitzed out and took the fight to the Indians, punishing them in a succession of campaigns and attacks that were so severe the Indian menace was mostly quieted for decades afterwards

@uathbhas I figured Glenn would get whacked, so it didn't bother me, but it felt like the whole show regressed back to season 2 where everyone is incompetent again. I stopped watching at the end of season 7 and never went back.
