@justinskycak@pilpulon What if we are reading a theory book that doesn't have problems?
Should we create our own problems?
Isn't this somewhat like creating flashcards?
@pilpulon I don't think you need flashcards so much as exercises. Consume information, then retrieve it to solve problems. Then solve problems again after some time has passed. I don't know of any subject that doesn't have natural exercises like that.
It might seem like note-taking is a good use of time since it produces (slightly) more retention than purely reading/listening. But that's only if you ignore the opportunity cost: the extra time you spend writing notes could be put to far better use engaging in retrieval practice, which produces a comparatively massive retention benefit.
Only a Calvinist could say "all Israel will be saved" (Romans 11:26), referring to that future generation of ethnic Israel right before the return of Christ.
This would require irresistible grace.
@ymmotrojam Contradictions as God being responsible for evil while being all Good (negating free will) or God not being able to truly determine the future while being all knowing and all powerful (negating sovereignty).
@ymmotrojam Calvinism preserves God sovereignty but at the cost of human free will.
Both concepts are found in the Bible many times, and negation of either leads to contradictions.
@ymmotrojam This is what differentiates Arminianism from Molinism.
The former preserves free will but can't explain how God remains sovereign.
Because with Foreknowledge God only knows the future, but has no way to control it.
@ymmotrojam This is possible because God knows how each human will freely choose to act in any circumstance.
By acting on this knowledge, He can remain sovereign by realizing a world where the free actions of his creatures are perfectly aligned in a way that lead to his perfect purpose.
@ymmotrojam If you think God actively wanted it to be that way, then you would need middle knowledge.
He choose to create, between many possible worlds, the specific one where people born there at that time all will freely choose salvation.
@ymmotrojam Not even middle knowledge would be needed for this.
Only simple Arminian Foreknowledge would be enough for God to know this future and predict it.
