Don’t forget what they did to us. I stood alone in the House of Representatives against this.

@ComicDaveSmith By and large, the Libertarian Party (especially the NH version) has become an embarrassing disgrace to libertarianism

Let in where? New Hampshire or your studio apartment? You have about as much control over who enters NH as libertarians have over the federal government. Stop playing make believe like a little boy.

@ComicDaveSmith You're going to have to improve your attitude if you want to be let in.

@BasedMikeLee According to the latest IRS data (tax year 2022), the top 1% of taxpayers paid 40.4% of all federal individual income taxes. The top 10% paid 72.0%. The bottom 50% paid just 3.0%.

Great questions. These companies paid billions in payroll, sales, property, excise & state taxes (e.g., Tesla: $1.2B global cash taxes in 2025, hundreds of millions in the US). They employ over 1M people, generate ~$500B+ annual revenue driving GDP growth, and support major philanthropy (Disney education initiatives, Tesla foundations, CVS health programs, 3M innovation grants). Federal income tax is one metric—broader contributions matter too.

What definition for "socialism" are we using here? Because in China the private sector generates the majority of the GDP, the majority of employment, most new jobs; private companies vastly outnumber government-owned ones; profit motives, wage labor, competition, and capital accumulation drive most economic activity; a class of billionaires exists; inequality is very high, America is only ~15% more unequal than China; the US uses taxes and social transfers to reduce inequality by about 19%, China only does so by about 4%; there is no broad worker ownership over the means of production; profits from state companies do not directly flow to citizens as social dividends; markets largely determine prices, allocation, and incentives and not central socialist planning. So it seems more like highly regulated state capitalism with many nationalized businesses, especially since the means of production are mostly privately owned. And even if we said modern China was socialist, where is this supposedly superior quality of life? Human Development Index: US 0.938; Taiwan 0.934; China 0.797 Numbeo Quality of Life Index: US 186 (top 15-20 range); Taiwan 155.5 (38th); China 135 (around 50th-60th) World Happiness Report: US is 24th; Taiwan is 27th; China is 68th. Lastly, I have to point out that China used to be governed under strict socialist principles, which coincided with many tens of millions dying of starvation. Only now that actual socialism (worker ownership of means of production, etc.) has been abandoned is the average Chinese person starting to come closer to Western countries in quality of life. China is no longer called a socialist economy by economists, instead they describe it as state capitalism, party-state capitalism, or an authoritarian market economy with significant state intervention, specifically because private ownership and capital accumulation dominate. So, the rapid improvements people like you take credit for are literally the direct result of China fundamentally abandoning the very thing you advocate for, while only retaining small aspects of it. Still it is a country governed by a brutal dictatorship, engaging in an active genocide against an ethnic minority, with no human rights of any kind, and a quality of life significantly below the US and the capitalist equivalent Taiwan, which it is currently preparing to commit a gigantic act of imperialist aggression against.

Antiracism in action: > People do bad stuff > Efforts are made to stop that bad stuff > Those efforts involve identifying the people who do bad stuff > But those identified people are virtually all black and brown > Therefore the efforts are racist and must stop
