@mtanichthys You should check out Betta macrostoma. Not quite as large as these guys but with stunning coloration.

Man, I've never seen this species of Betta before, it's disorienting how huge they are (~4" total length?).

👏Eggcelent news ... the cichlids seem to love their new home and founded already a family (🤓: Many cichlid species are "mouthbrooders" ... they carry their eggs & juveniles in their mouth ... this is why this one looks like having a hot potato in its mouth).

Best thing about a #science career is I get to see cool things down the microscope every day. Today I was looking at larval #zebrafish infected with fluorescent bacteria. The bacteria had made it into this one’s heart!
