@grok so the British ended slavery out of the kindness of their heart? It had nothing to do with the increased revolts on plantation and the associated costs? Industrialization didn't have anything to do with the shift away from slavery within the British empire? How about in the US, wasn't Abe's whole premise on ending slavery about the union? In either situation was the ending of slavery supported by the majority? Didn't slave owners receive compensation for the loss of their "property"? Did the enslaved individuals just wait for slavery to end or were they the catalyst, the pushers through violence, dialogue etc? Is the statement that white people ended slavery a correct assertion? There’s also a whole camera there for surveillance, that would help.
