Valid but also fics aren't books and you don't pay to read them, so instead of criticising a free work you can just scroll and ignore it, or just complain about it to friends if the writer didn't ask for criticism 😭 often the said criticism is just hate and not mindful at all

i get why people are so defensive of fic writers but my hot take is also that if you publicly post something you’ve written it’s open to (mindful) criticism just as much as it’s open to praise and you will actually not ever convince me that it’s automatically bad to discuss that
