@PhilippeServe06 @JohanSalomon I had your answer as well, and had to figure out why it wouldn't work.

@ClimateHome This is heartbreaking. One decent man who tried to reach across the divide has been killed. The tragedy is the same thing has happened to 1000s of others, and it's almost impossible to fathom. May his decency and deeds have the effect he would have wanted, eventually.

@clcoding Or a long version:
import numpy as np
n = int(input('Enter number of rows\n'))
idx = np.abs(np.arange(-n + 1, n))
X, Y = np.meshgrid(idx, idx)
print(*np.where(X + Y < n, '*', ' ').view(f'<U{n * 2 - 1}').flat, sep='\n')

@clcoding from numpy import *
n = int(input('Enter number of rows\n'))
print(*where(add(*meshgrid(*tile(abs(arange(-n+1,n)),(2,1))))<n,'*',' ').view(f'<U{n*2-1}').flat,sep='\n')

@DopplerChase Interesting and useful to see this. Wonder if there will be any artefacts around the end of 2023 in future papers using IMERG data?

Curious why GPM data products have stopped flowing? This is because on Nov 7-8 the spacecraft was 'boosted' to a higher orbit to hopefully extend GPM's lifetime till the 2030s. Data should start flowing again next year. Read more about it here: gpm.nasa.gov/missions/gpm/o…
