6-10 German center Fynn Lastring, who is still playing for pro team Artland Dragons in Germany's Pro A league, has signed with the Lobos. He averaged 12.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks in the 2025 U18 EuroCup event, including a 20 pt, 9 reb, 4 ast, 7 block win over Sweden. 10th Lobo scholarship committed for 2026-27 season. I'm guessing 3-4 more coming, but the rapid fire nature of all this slows now.

Presser with UNM's Jake Hall just ended. Here are some things I made note of: -Jake praised Coach Olen's reaction to learning that Jake would enter the portal, and mentioned that Olen even offered to give him advice while he was speaking to other teams. -Chris Howell coming back was very important to Jake, and said Howell told him, "I can't wait to make your life easier." Jake on Howell," that's someone you want in the locker room." -Jake mentioned that Coach Olen was fired up when he told him he wanted to stay (obviously), and described the moment as something that he'd never forget. Jake told him, "I don't want to leave New Mexico without a championship." -Dax, Jake, and Coach Olen played golf together. Dax won. -Jake also mentioned that the timelines didn't match up when speaking with other schools. Mr. Portnoy asked him to expand on that, and Jake said that some of the blue-bloods were still waiting if some of their players were declaring for the NBA. -Jake said this a few times: "My gut was telling me to come back." -When describing Dax Hall's style of play, he said he was a pest on defense and a true ball handler. -Jake and Dax will be roommates.
