Qeshm Island is bigger than Okinawa. Both are in artillery, drone and missile range of Iran. During WW2, we pounded Iwo Jima with battleships for weeks before landing 70,000 Marines. 19,000 were WIA and 7,000 were KIA. It took a month to wipe out Japanese resistance. In 1945 we landed 180,000 Marines and Soldiers on Okinawa. It took three months to subdue Japanese resistance. The U.S. suffered more than 30,000 WIA and 12,000 KIA. But what the hell, I'm sure a force of around 10,000 U.S. troops can capture Kharg or Qeshm, while being shuttled in by helicopters and tilt-rotors. From staging areas that are in easy drone and missile range from Iran. Or maybe we'll just bum-rush our amphibious ships loaded with Marines straight into the Strait of Hormuz. For Kharg Island, tack on a 600 kilometer run parallel to the cliffs of the Iranian coast. It should be a piece of cake. The FOX News military geniuses are all sure this is a great idea, and it seems like Trump is listening to them. God help our deployed Soldiers, Sailors and Marines

You seem to misunderstand the point. Iranian patriots do not want mullahs. Period. The documented 54,000 didn’t die in January to keep the regime or to reform it in any shape or form. They took on the streets bare handed fighting the terrorists to end them and to bring HIH Reza Pahlavi back to Iran. Remember “Javid Shah” and “This is the final battle, Pahlavi will return” chants before the Iranians got silenced by the regime inside Iran for months? Why would you or anyone else suggest the same regime for the people of Iran when they clearly reject it? You Cadillac say “some Iranians” I’d suggest you check their affiliations with IRGC or NIAC/MEK. Having said that, all we have to do is to put ourselves in the shoes of those who are trapped in the prisons awaiting their execution calls. What is the price for freedom then? Puts things in perspective, doesn’t it? If at this point after 47 years of ultimate misery, death, rape, massacre, execution, and destruction of the people of Iran and Iran by the IRGC, anyone is still debating the possibility of the regime for the people of Iran, then I won’t waste a minute on them trying to hold their hand to understand what the Iranians want. I hope this makes it crystal clear.
