@alcides There are very few successful replications of the study though

@alcides They claim that defensive mechanism in participant’s brain activated a fraction of second before the dangerous picture was even generated

Hey, does anyone know if quantum mechanics considers it possible for future events to alter the past? I'm reading this paper for my minor course on Controversies in Psychology. Apparently, they claim that quantum effects could explain precognition 🤔 doi.org/10.1037/cns000…

Can type families and GADTs be considered dependent types?

@BartoszMilewski @pinkyandthejay Maybe ask them about general facts instead of personal opinions first? As a Russian, I was several times approached with genuine questions, e.g. about the effects of the war on me and my family. I was rather glad to share what I know and didn’t find it offensive at all

@pinkyandthejay I know, there are many Ukrainians who speak Russian. But how do you approach Russian-speaking people? Do you ask bluntly if they support the "special operation" in Ukraine?

I went to a wine store today, Total Wines. They attached special labels to Russian-named vodkas: Smirnoff-[made in the USA], Stolichnaya-[made in Latvia]. There were no Russian-made liquors.

@BartoszMilewski @Vanger13 In Russia it is not safe to publicly admit that you are against the war. By law, you get up to 15 years of prison for that. So, perhaps, anonymous polls would be less biased

@Vanger13 Polls are biased. But I've seen some independent YouTube videos where they approached random people in Moscow. About 60% would say: I'm with the president. Or I support our army. Many were openly against the war.

@ldvsoft @DmitrySayutin Facebook and Instagram allow editing post. I've never heard of any related exploits. Perhaps Twitter is more about news and politics so changing opinions on here can have worse implications?

@DmitrySayutin Ha, so it doesn't remove the comments! What more should I know about Twitter, Dima? :)
