People have to remember that the Chargers went from the 21st most valuable Franchise before the move to the 24th most valuable franchise after
Spanos paid a relocation fee for his franchise to be LESS valuable than other teams in the league
The move, in terms of maximizing value has been a disaster

the padres are going to sell for more than any baseball team ever has bc of their prime location. dean spanos is the worst owner in the history of pro sports.

@MissionVlyMafia This shit is so embarrassing and sad, San Diego had the sorriest fan base in the NFL, and you’re on here yapping like Qualcomm was ever filled with fans… SD fans should be so ashamed tbh

English

@MissionVlyMafia The point is, it wasn’t better in SD lol… at least games aren’t getting blacked out anymore
English

@othmkr Stadium full of opposing fans? Yeah that problem is fixed now…
English

@CommonBayTakes @OtbSD_Allan @SanJoseMiguel @sandiegofc Exactly, makes last season that much more embarrassing for yall
English

@sandiegofc Belt 2 ass😂😂😂 take that cute shit elsewhere. That isn’t futbol. Brucey really just put that belt 2 ass without even breaking a sweat

@m00sematt @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 Paying to relocate after SD blew the stadium situation isn’t proof he wanted LA from day one. It’s proof SD gave them no good path to stay.
If SD actually care about the Chargers, they’d have voted to support that stadium measure.
English

@othmkr @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 so it's your belief spanos wanted to stay in SD
the same spanos who pitched in $200 million for measure C and paid a $650 million relocation fee to move to LA, not to mention $300 million the NFL was willing to pitch in giving him more than $1 billion to work with. i'm so sure

NBC 7 San Diego@nbcsandiego
The Padres are expected to pick a new owner in the next few weeks. And it’s going to fetch more than any baseball team ever has, begging the question — what makes this team worth more than clubs in LA or New York? NBC 7’s Derek Togerson has the answer. ⚾ on.nbc7.com/3eeq8sS

@m00sematt @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 Nearly every NFL stadium was funded by tax payers, petco park was also funded by tax payers. Literally 99% of pro stadiums were funded by tax payers - that’s the cost of having a major league team in your city
SD just never cared about the Chargers lol
English

@othmkr @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 They voted against paying public money for a billionaire's stadium*
Fixed it for ya, and the Chargers have a better chance of leaving their current home than the Padres do, lol
English

@m00sematt @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 The city never cared about the chargers, that’s why they voted against a stadium measure to keep them in SD lol. Padres are next
English

@othmkr @DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 I take it you've watched the Chargers post 2011? When it became evident this city meant nothing to your loser owner?
English

@RayKrocsGhost @Tha_Frederation They make ten fold that in LA, are you stupid? 😂
English

@othmkr @Tha_Frederation Plenty. And they didn’t end up paying rent most seasons. The city paid them to play there. lol You’re out of your depth.

Nothing would bring me more joy than to see the Chargers in San Diego again
English

@RayKrocsGhost @Tha_Frederation The year is irrelevant, two of the most popular major league teams left SD because it’s a horrible sports town.
The only reason padres games attract more fans is because it’s the last team standing lmao 🥀
English

@DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 So you know first hand that we didn’t have fans, no need to try and rewrite history. Stadium was constantly filled with opposing fans, or no fans at all, hence the constant blackouts.
English

@othmkr @dodgerdawg81 lol how old are you? you realize you’re talking to someone who grew up with the chargers in the 90s and 00s? my grandpa worked for them. i went to all the games. maybe shut the fuck up.
English

@DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 Nice, they showed up for them that one time in the 90s!
English

@othmkr @dodgerdawg81 these are chargers fans welcoming the team back to San Diego after they won the AFC championship in 1995. it was unreal in the city. unlike anything you’ll ever experience, sadly. so glad i got to.

English

@DylanTweetin @dodgerdawg81 The chargers never had a fan base in SD lol, games were always blacked out because stands were empty and viewership was in the gutter
English

@dodgerdawg81 wrong. also, having a fanbase is typically good for a team.

@othmkr @Tha_Frederation “San Diego isn’t a good sports market”…as someone’s about to pay more for The Padres than any other baseball team ever. lolololol
