⚪️⚫️Lewis Carr⚫️⚪️ Monday’s 2-2 draw at Charnock Richard saw 18 year old Lewis Carr make his debut for the club. Lewis has come through The Hyde United Academy/WDCFC Reserves pathway and has been training with the First Team over the past month. The central midfielder is excited to sign for the club and take the next step in his footballing journey, “I’m thrilled to sign for West and I’m so excited to get going. I’ve been training for a while now and they’re a brilliant group of lads and I’ve learnt so much in my time here already. It was great being in the squad on Saturday and then make my debut on Monday. The fans were amazing and now hopefully I can kick on and get some more minutes out there in front of the West fans and show them what I’m about.” Chris Rowley was full of praise for Lewis after Monday’s game, “It was a fantastic performance from the young lad. He’s only just turned 18 and he’s come through the pathway which we’ve been developing with Hyde’s Youth Team. He’s been training with us and he’s done really well. It shows that we’re not afraid to put our faith in young players when they’ve got quality as good as him. It was a difficult situation in the game and he showed exactly what we’ve seen from him in training, he doesn’t shy away from the ball or from making a tackle.” Welcome to West Lewis 🤝🤍🖤
