This is the part of Nebraska that's on fire. These were both just south of the burn area, the first from just east of Lisco in late 2023, the second from just east of Broadwater in mid-2024. Really pretty country and lots of farmland.

@skylarromines I got added to a snake ID group on Facebook after having to relocate a Kingsnake out of my house. I did not need help ID-ing the rattler at the bottom of my front steps because the rattle is very distinctive.

Okay this is a sad update but a 25 year old guy died in OC last week from a rattlesnake bite, so chatgpt actually could have killed me by telling me this was a safe, friendly gopher snake.
