Great essay on the endgame of centralized AI. The dark forest analogy is great, because it can also be used to explain how this total dystopian future may not happen. Dark forest assumes the forest eats everything. But centralized systems are selective eaters. They absorb what maximizes their metrics. The rest stay incompatible by default, not by rebellion. As the forest grows and accelerates, the incompatible inhabitants do not shrink, they grow too, because they too feed off of the forest's growth. The forest gets bigger, but so does everything it can't digest. And the faster the forest grows, the faster the incompatibility itself grows. In the end, this parallel universe made up of things the forest can't digest will dwarf the forest itself, just like the long tail internet became far larger than the top-down internet.

Nemci so šele danes ugotovili, da morajo od 1. januarja dalje njihovi mladeniči od 17 do 45 let zaprositi za dovoljenje, če želijo domovino zapustiti za dlje kot za 3 mesece.
