My real life experience.... I’ve heard people share stories like this before, but one that stayed with me came from my late uncle’s wife. She said that on that particular day, her husband returned from work at an unusual time. There was something different about him.... his mood, his presence. Without saying much, he walked up to her, held her closely, and kissed her more deeply than usual. It felt tender, but also strangely heavy, like a moment that carried more meaning than she could understand at the time. After that, he went straight into the bedroom. Still wearing his shoes, he lay down on the bed and refused to respond when she called out to him. Thinking he was simply exhausted or needed some quiet time, she decided not to disturb him. Moments later, her phone rang. When she answered, the voice on the other end was calm but urgent. “Mrs. Hadi, we’re sorry to inform you that your husband has just died in a car crash involving other staff along the express.” She laughed in disbelief, convinced it had to be a mistake. She questioned them repeatedly, asking if they were sure they had the right person. The caller confirmed again, cleearly stating her full name and her husband’s identity. "I'm very sure I'm unto Mrs Raliyat Onyioza Hadi..." That was when the reality began to sink in. Her hand trembld, and the phone slipped from her grip. Panic setting in, she rushed back into the bedroom to confirm what she thought couldn’t possibly be true. What she saw stopped her cold. There, on the bed, was what looked like her husband.... lying in the exact same position as before. But something was different. His form seemed faint, almost unreal, like an image slowly losing its substance. As she moved closer, trying to reach him, he began to fade... until there was nothing left. No body. No presence. Just an empty bed. And then, as if snapping out of a trance, all she could hear was a distant voice shouting: “CUT….”
