January's retail performance remained strong, with revenue up 9% year-on-year, according to Tenoris. The data shows we are still seeing a “value over volume” trend: total sales are rising because consumers are buying more expensive items, even though they are purchasing fewer pieces overall. Diamond jewelry saw a slight increase in value, but it was gold that stood out. Gold jewelry revenue soared by nearly 20%, supported by consumers' increased purchases of higher price point items, while lower price points suffer from declining demand.
