Scorpions Album Ranking from Worst to Best #10: Face The Heat (1993) I’ve heard that this album got A LOT of hate back in the day…and I’m not exactly sure why😂 Some have said that the band’s sound changed too drastically to try to keep up with the changing scene of the early 90s. But if you ask me…I’m not sure the sound on this album was THAT big of a departure! I mean sure, the guitars are little more down tuned. But I still think the band’s natural Hard Rock sound still comes through very well here! My issue with this album is the track list is really uneven. The rockin’ songs are KILLER! But I think this ballads suck, which naturally causes the whole listening experience to require a few skips😂 ‘Alien Nation’ is a TOP TEN Scorpions song of all time and I’ll defend it TO THE DEATH!😂 I LOVE ‘No Pain No Gain’! Such a killer riff and hook! Someone To Touch absolutely ROCKS too! ‘Unholy Alliance’ is a SUPER underrated track in my opinion! Like I said before, I think the ballads ‘Under The Same Sun’, ‘Women’ and ‘Lonely Nights’ don’t really do anything for me. A couple other good deep tracks are ‘Hard To Be Nice’ and ‘Ship of Fools’! Overall, this is one of the Scorpions most underrated albums in my opinion and it definitely DID NOT deserve the hate it got! Is it the best of the band’s heyday? No…But I think it was the natural progression of the bands sound during that time! And they handled the changing music landscape better than most bands!🔥🤘🏻

Scorpions Album Ranking from Worst To Best #13: Lonesome Crow (1972) Is this album weird? HELL YES😂 Does this album sound ANYTHING like what we expect from Scorpions? HELL NO😂 But somehow, I actually kind of like this strange little debut album. I find the avant garde vibes of this album very interesting. This is what happens when you mix Psychedelic Rock and Proto-Metal. A lot of these songs don’t really have a set structure, more like sounds scapes that weave in and out. The most impressive aspect of this album is the guitar playing. The Schenker brothers absolutely KILL IT on this thing! And the fact that Michael Schenker was only SIXTEEN when he recorded this is MIND BLOWING! Also Klaus Meine gives some INSANE vocals on this thing. He sustains some really long notes on here! It’s hard to talk about certain tracks individually on this because sometimes it’s hard to differentiate songs from each other . That’s my main gripe here. Most of these songs feel like they drag on, even when they are only between four and five minutes long…which doesn’t help the experience. Making the pacing on this thing is really bad😂 My three favorite songs on this album are ‘It All Depends’, ‘In Search Of Peace Of Mind’ and ‘Inheritance’. Mainly because those songs in my opinion feature the best guitar playing on the album! Overall, I like this album. I don’t love it. The pacing is a big turn off for me and I don’t reach for this very often when I’m in the mood for Scorps. But if I do find myself wanted something that’s COMPLETELY different from typical Scorpions, I come to this album every time! Even if it isn’t very often 😂

March 28, 1992 Duke defeated Kentucky 104-103 in overtime to advance to the Final Four. Following a 3/4 court pass from Grant Hill, Christian Laettner hit the game-winning shot as time expired. UK fans have had to relive that shot EVERY March for 30 years because it has been replayed over and over. Maybe now, Duke fans can watch the UCONN shot for the next 30 years. (It was fitting, and satisfying that Grant Hill was on the call of the game.)

Scorpions Album Ranking from Worst to Best #18: Pure Instinct (1996) The reason why this album isn’t last…is because at least it’s trying to SOUND like a Scorpions album😂 The problem is it sounds like a REALLY BLAND Scorpions album. I’m sorry but NOTHING here sticks with me. All these songs seem to come and go with NO real staying power. The guitars sound REALLY stale and generic. And wherever the band does try to rock out, it doesn’t feel as…full as it should be. And MY GAWD there are so many ballads on this thing! I don’t know what happened to this band’s SACK on this album…but some of this shit sounds softer than some stuff on Eye II Eye😂 The ONLY two songs I like from this are the openers. Wild Child is a legit good song and But The Best Of You is pretty good too! Other than that, I never go back to this album. It’s such a nothing burger of an album that I forget it even exists in there discography sometimes😂
