One thing Hospitals could do better: when an elderly parent goes in for major surgery, make sure the child knows more about what is going to happen…not just the OTHER elderly parent. 8 days after surgery and my 89 yearly old MIL is restrained because post-surgery delirium and “sundowning” is still happening. She ripped out her oxygen tube the first day and was trying to pull out her IV also. And her 88 year old husband (my FIL) is just reacting to everything, getting angry at the nurses and doctors, which ain’t helping. Meanwhile, my wife, only child, is trying to manage everything. Please pray for her. And her parents. This is very hard…

@MikeBales It’s amazing (in a bad way) to me how many “good” people who love THEIR families are so casual about wishing death on a man they disagree with politically. What they send out will return to them 🤷‍♂️

I’m learning very quickly that many people believe the standard for success is perfection. The military lost a highly classified helicopter on the bin Laden raid because the mock up compound they trained on used a chain link fence as the perimeter instead of the solid wall that was actually there….mission failure? There’s dumb mistakes in every kinetic operation, doesn’t mean the mission is a failure. Collectively, this group of LEOs went from identifying the suspect as a threat to detaining him within ~15 seconds and within feet of the outer perimeter. If that’s failure, what does success look like? Robotic reaction times and emotionless marksmanship? This whole things reminds me of that investigation committee that dragged Sully Sullenberger as incompetent because a computer simulation told them he could have made it back to an airport instead of landing in the Hudson.

Can anyone honestly say that the current movement of America hasn't been to disenfranchise black people? Affirmative action, gone. DEI considerations, gone. Black military leadership, gone. Black women in government jobs, gone. Black History, erased. Voting rights, suppressed. Civil Rights, gone. Even the MAGA tap dancers are being removed. One thing for sure is that we are currently moonwalking back in time to a time that "Makes America Great Again" for some people. It's no longer a hidden agenda. The question is, why are we heading in this direction? What's the benefit?

@LovricE @DrShayPhD Asking Mary or the saints to pray for you is very much different than praying TO Mary or the saints. You can pray for anyone but only to the Trinity.

I am still waiting for the chapter where Peter converted to Catholicism. The Bible recorded Saul becoming Paul, yet somehow forgot to record Peter going from Jewish apostle to Roman pope.

The question is how you get there...because "I do what He says" can still be out of obligation. Its ultimately shift comes from a change in heart posture as you move towards devotion instead of acting out of duty/obedience. This change requires us to draw nearer and nearer to him, and spend more and more time in his presence.
