The petals are heavy with velvet and wine,
While you’re tracing the edge of a fading design.
You’re staring at shadows, searching for signs,
When are you going to make up your mind?
The ink on your skin tells the stories of old,
Of a heart that is fire in a world that is cold.
I see the cathedral, the light breaking through,
When are you going to love you as much as I do?
The skull is a throne and the roses are cast,
In a moment too vibrant and jagged to last.
Don't wait for the winter to find your own grace,
Or look for a ghost in a beautiful face.
The clock in the garden has started to chime,
The silver is tarnished by silence and time.
Hold tight to the breath that you’re catching at last—

The Bubble Pixie
In a realm of golden, shimmering light,
I stand a pixie, shining bright,
In layers of violet, sheer and frilled,
A world of wonder I have willed.
With wand in hand, a playful breath,
I blow the troubles out of death.
Each perfect orb, a floating glass,
They rise and dance as moments pass.
So pure, so clear, so full of hope,
Within each sphere, my eyes can scope
The dreams you held, so precious small,
The hopes you whispered to the wall.
I lift them high with whimsical intent,
On golden air, so light they’re sent.
The light refracts, a rainbow prism,
A fragile, temporary chrism.
But like all visions, clear and deep,
Not all these hopes are ours to keep.
A tiny breath, a subtle sigh,
A gentle force as time goes by.
With boots for earth and soul for flight,
I bust the bubbles in the light.
A little pop, a subtle spray,
Those fleeting visions fade away.
I blow the bubble, let it rise,
A fleeting shape before your eyes.
The dream you had, so clear and bright,
I watch it burst and take its flight.
For in the busting, raw and true,
The strongest path appears for you.
So watch the bubbles as they soar,
And do not mourn what isn’t more.
For every fleeting dream that’s blown,
Another truer path is shown.
Blowing bubble, busting dreams,
