“We serve an unbelievable God.” -Coach Dawn Staley This moment is for the little girl in Philly who dreamed of bigger courts in this game called life. The girl who went from dribbling on the sidewalks to winning gold medals on international courts, being inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and winning NCAA National Championships. That woman is making history today, becoming the first Black coach to win three Division 1 titles doing all with an undefeated season. This is for the little girl who dared to believe in His promises and never let the game of life box her out. Congratulations, Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks! #UncommonFavor 📹: @bleacherreport

EBONY offers our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the "Godfather of Black Music," Clarence Avant. In the 1960s and 70s, he was most known for founding multiple record labels which would eventually become the home of many Black music icons🕊 ebony.com/godfather-of-b…

RIP Jessie Maple, a pioneering filmmaker, writer, producer, editor and cinematographer. She was one of the first Black women to direct a narrative feature length film and is the first Black woman to join the International Photographers of Motion Picture & Television union.

U.S. Army Sgt. Hilda Griggs was a member of the first and only all-Black women's Army corps, the 6888th. Stationed in England and later in France, the unit was responsible for clearing 18 million pieces of backlogged Army mail. The motto of the 6888th was, “No mail, low morale."
