They say grief mimics depression, but since I already have depression, it's hard to say for sure. I'm occasionally cheerful, often sad, sometimes angry, always tired. Somehow, it's only been three weeks since my mom died; time is a brittle rubber band.

Finally heard back from my full request. It was a rejection. A form rejection on a full. I'm not going to comment because I get agents have lives but... *sigh*...it's just the sad last nail in that coffin. I'm already in the process of trying to decide what to query next

So excited to announce that I'm writing a YA cozy fantasy!!! It's called THE FARAWAY INN, and it will be coming out in spring 2026 from Delacorte (US) and First Ink / Macmillan Children's (UK), plus it'll be translated into (at least) 4 other languages! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I sent my last query in January (even then, I was pretty much already done with it for this manuscript, the last real batch went out in November). All are now closed, either with no response or rejection. I only have one open full request left I still haven't heard back from...

My querying and writing is going absolutely nowhere. I have no intention of quitting, that would only make me more unhappy. What I really need is a writing critique group to join. My last group kinda died. Is there anyone out there in a group with room for another writer? ☺️

Today would have been my Mom’s 70th birthday.
It has been over 20 years since she passed, and sometimes the pain is so intense it's as if it were the day she left.
She has five beautiful grandchildren and has missed so many beautiful moments.

My brother is a captain for American Airlines. Whenever there’s an air incident, I can never relax until he texts me back. It took him entirely too long tonight.
So many prayers for the people and families affected by the tragedy tonight. My heart is broken for them all.

@clhubes I knew my leftie was a leftie at 18 mo. She still used both hands, but if the spoon was in the left, the Oatmeal made it to her mouth. If it was in her right, she struggled, and the Oatmeal fell off 🤷♀️

@RWeberWrites I'll write a list of the words that best represent the plot/characters and then write as many different log lines as I can, using that list as a guide - even the stupid ones! 😅 Eventually, something will click 😊
