Excellent days birding at Abberton Reservoir, 83 species recorded, highlights; 3 Tundra Bean 📷 & 26 White-fronted Geese, 5 Smew (4 drk), Lesser Scaup. 12 Gtr Scaup, 3 Bewick's Swans 📷, 10 Med Gulls, 92 Curlew, 3 Corn Buntings📷, Blackcap in sub-song & 4 RC Pochard

25 White-fronted Geese at Henny on the Essex side of the river Stour this afternoon, meanwhile at Shalford Meadow, Lt Cornard on the Suffolk side there were 118 Lapwing, 15 Common Snipe, 170 Teal, 30 Gadwall, 23 Wigeon & 8 Shoveler enjoying the floodwater

Highlights from an excellent days birding at Abberton despite a late start; drake Lesser Scaup, 13 Greater Scaup, 5 Bewick's Swan, 2 Common Scoter, Slav Grebe, 5 Little Stint, 61 Dunlin, 2 Green Sands, 18 Curlew, 12 Ruff, Rock Pipit, Kingfisher Red Kite & at least 17 GWE

Brilliant afternoon at Abberton, highlights; 42 Spoonbill, at least 58 GWE, Knot, 18 Curlew Sands, 6 Lt Stint, 3 Spot Reds, 5+ Greenshank, 3 Black Tern, 2 Garganey, Whinchat, Wheatear, Med Gull, 2 LRP, 2 Hobby, juvenile Peregrine & all 3 hirundine sp. 📷 Lt Stint & Curlew Sand

A phylloscopus warbler that flicked up in the orchard by Gt. Wig church revealing a strong pale super and dark eye stripe and short wing bar, eventually showed well enough to nail as Arctic warbler.

Day 10 in Peru saw me breakfasting with a backdrop of James's & Andean Flamingoes at 4,600 metres on my 57th Birthday. They were two of ten lifers today. Othwr pics- Puna Plover & Grey-bellied Seedsnipe. 😀

A few hours at Abberton this afternoon trying to stay dry, the Temminck's Stint was still showing in Hide Bay along with juvenile Garganey & Dunlin, 2 more Garganey showing well NW of LDLH Causeway, Wood Sand & Greenshank in Wig Bay. 4 Green & at least 8 Common Sands also seen.
