@FoodTrainScot This should never have happened, and by highlighting the failure of a hospital discharge plan/ package of care I hope it never happens again. I dread to think what could have happened to this couple if @FoodTrainScot wasn't available.

Just taken a call from an 81yr old lady discharged home following a hip operation, lives rural, told no care till 8th Jan, she's main carer for her disabled husband, got her sorted with food delivery and she said 'I can't describe the relief that you can help' #leftwithoutcare

Unfortunately, the way that charging works, many will still be paying for care, even with “free” personal care. Tens of thousands who still require support to live will still have to pay for that from their often limited incomes. Sticking plaster, broken system.
