@choochoobear I’d assumed Cotton-Eye Joe was the officiant at a wedding who ghosted the ceremony, and the song was about the pisssd off couple who now couldn’t get married.

The strip I submitted was a joke based on the old song, "Cotton-Eyed Joe." As a kid, I assumed it was about a zombie who ate someone's true love. It was a weird strip, but I thought it was funny and so did some people I showed it to. (2/?)

So, today's Popeye is a rerun. Unlike the last two reruns, which was linked to my health, this one was because of concerns over the strip I submitted - and before you ask, no, I am not posting the strip I submitted. (1/?)

@bethrevis I had an orange cat who once got stuck under a plastic laundry hamper and headbutted the side to get out. For YEARS afterward he kept headbutting that hamper for no reason other than remembering he’d done it before. “Great cat but not very bright” is not an insult.

I've been sitting with the news that Scholastic is self-censoring their Book Fairs since Tuesday. On Thursday I was invited to speak at a Scholastic Graphix party, and this is what I said. It's an earnest plea for the company with whom I have made so many books to do better.

@choochoobear Back in the 90s, someone broke into my car, stole the CD player, and DIDN’T take any of the CDs. Like WTF?!! I had some great albums there, and they had to be a music lover to smash and grab the player. I still feel insulted.

Welp, someone tried to steal my car last night apparently. They didn't. Just shattered a window. But now it's time for adventures in auto insurance claim!
