The 308 Collection
@308Collection
We collect Investment Grade sports cards that meet our buy & hold criteria; primarily vintage plus new-era graded rookie cards from all major sports.

@Ch3wbacA__ Had one that was autographed, graded PSA 9/10. Loved it, just much easier to acquire than the cards currently in the 50.

@308Collection The card I’m most surprised not to see is the 89 Griffey UD. I know it’s printed to the moon, but still a Top 5 most iconic card ever in my opinion. I have no idea what I’d remove for it though. Greatest hobby photo I’ve ever seen. You’ve finished the game. Well done.
English

@Steebles1 I can’t say, for fear my wife may see this response.
English

@308Collection Curious what the value of something like this is.. for insurance purposes.
English

@JKarrCinema We are big Bronco fans; hence Bo Nix National Treasures 1/1 Shield being in the collection.

English

@SportsdreamW Not at this time. I used FCG because I wanted graders notes and this was before PSA was doing it; plus I don’t like PSA for vintage as they are too inconsistent. Here is the Mantle raw:

@Zcards55 Hard to say. The way I navigate the hobby is when I see something I really want, I sell/trade one OUT to make room for the new one. It creates a double sided decision. I’ve thought about adding the other two 84 Star Jordan cards, but not sure what 2 I would then get rid of.
English

@308Collection I’m curious… what would be #51 for you? If you had too… 🍻
English

@UKECB The Pele is from his personal collection. Before he passed, he signed cards from his collection and PSA tabbed them “The Pele Collection” as noted on the label. This one, from his rookie year, holds special value. It has great eye appeal. Only a blemish on the back from glue.

English

@308Collection Interesting choice for your Pele. Might want to swap it out for the 1958 Alifabolaget #635 in the future.
English

@VintageSlabMan Love it!
It’s funny how collecting decisions become much more clear when you place a limit on your collection.
I found myself constantly figuring out how to trade up (or save up) rather than exponentially adding new items.
Collecting becomes very strategic.
Well done!!!

@308Collection this one was inspired by you. I have paired down my collection a ton, still not down to a level like you at 50 cards. There is a freedom that comes with getting the PC lean though for sure. Here is a group shot. Cheers!

After the addition of the Jack Hughes 1/1 RPA (and removal of the 1964 Pete Rose), here is the current 50.

@darrenrovell @cllctMedia reposts from both you and Will’s personal accounts.
I’d say your entire organization is completely comingled given that - which then opens the door for your team’s personal opinions to cloud your professional ones with your hobby followers.
English

@308Collection It’s a personal account. Cllctmedia is a business account. I don’t think there is one person other than you that think they are comingled.

Since you don’t follow me, let’s give you the stats and you are welcome to look through my timeline to confirm.
In the last 17 days, I’ve tweeted about cards 22 times.
Two times. Less than 10% of those tweets could possibly be read as negative.
Again, it’s all on my timeline, which is fortunate for situations like this when people make up my what my stance is.

@darrenrovell Darren. I do not follow you because I actively choose not to follow you. Don't get it twisted. You may write or tweet however you like But you consistently talk about one side. Everyone sees it. I love cards, and you don't. At least you're presently mask-off about it.
English

@darrenrovell Is your account for business or personal use? People in the hobby only follow you (and your team) for hobby insight.
When you guys talk about bitcoin or the Iran war, it shouldn’t be a newsflash that it damages your business brand.
Bizarre that you guys don’t know this.
English

@308Collection I’m not allowed to tweet about something that I feel so passionately about?
English

@MarketMoversApp Second year Superfractor for $488k.
What else in the hobby could that money have purchased? There is the answer to your question.
Hard pass; but to each their own. If I’m putting half a million into basketball - there is really only one choice.

@d27milly Buying cards for the slab versus the card it holds is a mistake until cards are graded by AI solely.
If that wasn’t true, there would be no discrepancy in grades and the desire to “crack and resubmit” would be nonexistent.
English

@Will__Stern As soon as “hobby accounts” share political viewpoints, they lose all appeal and credibility.
I come to this X account (& who I follow) to escape the polarizing political landscape-especially from accounts who project themselves to be hobby influencers.
Now, you are just a 🤡.

🇺🇸 The Pentagon estimates that the war on Iran is costing $1 billion a day, according to Nancy Youssef of The Atlantic.
English

@Will__Stern So, based on your assertion, all 1/1 cards go down systematically over time because whoever owns it has already paid the most anyone is ever willing to pay.
Sure, pal.
English

@Will__Stern It’s a $20,000,000 card if that’s what it would take for him to be willing to sell it.
