Indigenous-led education is already underway in the Amazon. Now #Ecuador’s @Educacion_Ec must formally register these models & allocate the budget and capacity they require. The right exists since 1988. Political will must follow.

Eloy Alfaro, esq.) 🗓️martes 20 de enero de 2026 ⏰: 9AM 300+ integrantes de las nacionalidades A’i Cofán, Waorani y Siekopai se movilizarán con el objetivo de presentar sus Propuestas de Educación Comunitaria (PEC) y exigir su aprobación y su libre aplicación en sus territorios. Hemos solicitado ser recibidos por: José Atupaña, Gilda Alcívar (@GildaAlcivarOk ), Ministerio de Educación (@Educacion_Ec ) y María José Pinto (@mjpintoec) (@Vice_Ec ), para que nos escuchen y reciban nuestras propuestas. If these oil blocks move forward, the consequences will ripple far beyond Ecuador: deforestation and oil drilling accelerate emissions, destabilize rainfall systems, poison rivers, and destroy biodiversity — pushing the Amazon closer to a climate tipping point.

Ecuador is selling off the rainforest, the culture, the life, and the home of 7 Indigenous nationalities, to make way for nearly 50 oil projects. The #Andwa people are threatened by oil blocks 80 and 81, which cover 100% of their territory along the Bobonaza River.
