It’s a new week and I’m starting it by introducing myself. I’m Amara. I create product ad visuals for beauty and lifestyle brands. Design is marketing. Every visual I create is built around that. Here’s some of my recent work 👇

Brands often ask why their ads aren’t converting. Then you look at the design and don’t know where your eyes should land first. Too much text. Too many elements. Too many competing messages. Good advertising isn’t about fitting everything into one design. It’s about communicating one idea so clearly that people understand it before they’ve even finished scrolling. Every element should earn its place. If it doesn’t help communicate the message, it probably doesn’t belong. The brands that stand out won’t always be the loudest. They’ll be the clearest. Less clutter. More intention. More communication.

Happy New Month! The first six months of this year taught me patience. Not the kind that waits around, but the kind that keeps showing up, keeps building, and trusts that growth is happening even when it isn’t obvious. Looking back, I didn’t grow in the ways I expected. I grew in my thinking. In my work. In the opportunities that found me. And in the clarity I gained about the kind of designer I’m becoming. I’m entering July with more structure, a more open mind, and a deeper appreciation for the process. Grateful for June. Excited for what’s ahead. Happy July. 🤍

@nonamme145 I read this book in secondary school literature Native Son was my first real exposure to the concept of “racism” native son traumatized me. I love the book though ❤️‍🔥

Currently reading Native Son by Richard Wright and I literally can’t get past the first chapter. It’s terrifying

@yosseedesign Some people have built communities and have contacts that others don’t have. It’s different for everybody but one sure way for those of us building building from scratch is to post our work.

As a designer, I’m starting to question the whole “just post your work” advice I know someone who barely posts, doesn’t even have a portfolio, and still gets design jobs consistently Meanwhile, everyone keeps saying post your work, post your work Feels like there’s more to it than visibility

I disappeared for a while. Not because I ran out of ideas. But because I needed to rethink what I was really building. A few weeks ago, I lost access to X's Creator Revenue Sharing program. It hurt. Not because of the earnings only. But because I'd invested months showing up consistently. Then I realized something: Platforms can pause monetization. They can't pause knowledge. They can't pause experience. They can't pause trust. So I'm back with a new mission. For the next 90 days, I'm documenting how to build a brand people remember, trust, and buy from. Less chasing algorithms. More building authority. If you're building something meaningful, follow along.
