Are We Heard Or Are We A Herd? American culture takes great pride in the noble notion that we all have a voice in our governance, meaning that we are not ruled arbitrarily or by royal decree. Conceptualized as a republic, which aims to prevent the extreme "mob rule" side of democracy, our democratic republic delegates powers to representatives and observes the Constitution, the lofty desired outcome being no less than a just society for all. It is highly debatable whether this ideal has ever actually been realized. After all, corruption is eternal, and the fact remains that bullies, for all intents and purposes, usually end up dominating. For the vast majority, laws are dictated and obedience is enforced. Astute citizens question the significance of their vote and the integrity of those who rise to power. Resignation to being "just a number" and a muted voice is an unfortunate reality. From its founding to the present, America has furthered the noble cause of progress, but the destination still looms on the horizon. The progress of intellect, wisdom, virtue, understanding, and self-governance is hindered by all aspects of modern politics as a result of corruption, arrogance, and ignorance. Only a society that truly values each person's dignity, free will, and God-given potential is capable of meaningful progress and can offer the unparalleled opportunity of true happiness, satisfaction, and peace. We were not created to be puppets, but rather to fulfill our destinies as thinking, rational creatures. People should be paid for productivity, not protesting. We should be encouraged to pursue passions, excellence, achievements, and truth based on personal strengths and personalities, not forced into a one-size-fits-all system of prescribed curriculums, regimens, and agendas that prioritizes endless busy work and mind-numbing control. Continuing with antiquated models only furthers a mediocre and miserable society. We are at a crossroads between real progress defined by a divine destiny and fake progress defined by a dystopian world of mechanized humans. We must choose whether technology serves us, or we serve it. We must choose whether the rich and plentiful resources of the world serve us all or the greedy few. We must choose whether we serve pharaohs, kings, and puppet-masters, or whether we serve God and each other. We must choose whether we resign ourselves to accepting broken ways, or embrace better, brighter ways. We must choose our destiny, not let it be chosen for us or stolen from us. Be heard! What would YOU add to that?
