This is horrifically reminiscent of both the 1918 timeline in THE WAR LIBRARIAN (military book censorship) & the 1976 one (sexism & racism @ the USNA & limits to what you could say about it). You'd think things would change in 46 years, or @ least in 104! msn.com/en-us/news/us/…

@BaileyEBoone I haven't come across any scenarios like that, but there are some similar stories! For one, Dr. Couney's own daughter was born premature and was treated in one of his wards. Another story is of a baby who was treated there and grew up to be one of the nurses!

If you've read THE LIGHT OF LUNA PARK, you know about the bizarre history of the premature infants displayed @ Coney Island. From 1903-1943, a man named Martin Couney took in the infants who would have been left to die at hospitals and treated them in his freak show at Luna Park.
