@zacharylipton After two decades of observing standard American punctuation for various MIT publications, I adopted punctuation (by default) outside quotation marks for the Amazon Science blog because it's just more logical.

CONTROVERSIAL OPINION: Placing punctuation marks inside quotations even when the punctuation does not belong to the quoted text is uncivilized.
