This should force an immediate rerating of the TSLA stock price. An unsupervised fleet can instantly be turned on or increased in size to begin making high margin revenue. Wall Street doesn't just have to update their income forecasts for the new fleet area, but they also have to update their predictions about when the next area or fleet increase will be. These new robotaxi areas also strongly indicate they're were no new accidents in the next release of Austin accident data. Finally, Elon had said the private version of FSD is 6 months ahead of the public version. So we have no idea how good it is. What we do know is Tesla have concluded it's good enough to begin scaling. And that's good enough for me. Probably a good time to pick up a little more of the stock. NFA. 🚀 👊🏻

As a British Owner of FSD Software - my experience is : it’s basically cruise control for Highways & can’t auto lane change. I collect Scar Tissue every time FSD makes huge impressively safe progress in the US. Standing back - It’s weird having 360 global vision of the miracle, of the pioneering technology progress and trying to understand how and why it’s not available to me ? Just because a large group of influential people in authority “know better” . For our own safety- you understand . Just because the regulatory process was born in the dark ages and then over layered with even more “sensible safe guards” from even more, different people of authority. It’s the same hardware , it’s the same software, available in both nations, each of whom use the same common language dictionary and access the same Internet. It’s just incredible how this can even be. (When they were giving patience out - the British queue was too long)

@tslaming It's a good point about capex being a plus. Not only will it bring in returns on the investment, but it puts even more space between Tesla and their competitors.

GOOD NEWS 🚨 Piper Sandler (led by analyst Alexander Potter) reiterated its Overweight rating and $500 price target on $TSLA 🔥 The firm's latest thesis shifts focus away from traditional automotive metrics and heavily anchors on Tesla's progress in artificial intelligence and infrastructure. Here are the primary drivers behind their decision: 🤖 The firm highlighted a strong quarter-over-quarter increase in FSD software subscriptions as the most encouraging development of Q1, proving that Tesla's aggressive AI investments are now producing tangible financial results and monetization. 🚗 Rebounding consumer demand for Tesla's vehicles throughout the quarter provided a strong, positive foundation for the core automotive business. 🏗️ Tesla's massive infrastructure spending is viewed as a strategic advantage rather than a liability. Management raised its 2026 capital expenditure outlook from $20 billion to $25 billion to aggressively fund its AI and compute infrastructure. 💰 While the unexpected $5 billion CapEx increase implies strongly negative free cash flow for the rest of 2026 (which temporarily weighed on the stock after hours), Piper Sandler notes that Tesla holds more cash than debt. This pristine balance sheet provides the flexibility needed to dominate the AI infrastructure race without putting the company at financial risk.

Elon waiting before jumping into AI worked out very well. That meant he skipped the expensive start up phase when the supply chain was sparser and more expensive. Also it meant he could come in right away and solve the biggest challenge for the industry - coherence at scale. Also Sam and Elon were friends once 🥲

@JOBhakdi They have the Cybercabs built already. They will obviously deploy these soon. And each time, they will enter a new area and secure permissions necessary for extreme scale. Which might even happen on V14 if it proves good enough. Scaling will still happen this year.

Obviously we are all speculating - but I do not think Robotaxi scaled rollout is 12 months out. When I connect the dots, I still do believe it's imminent and we have a short moving towards 10k+ end of the year unsupervised. Cybercab production remains my biggest conviction driver: they just started real production yesterday. Why? Because they know they can keep scaling now. Slowly - maybe to 30 or 40 in May - but then faster.
javerse@javerse1

@JOBhakdi Sure but the 12 month outlook is very questionable. It would not be unfair to assume full on robotaxi could still be more than a year away. Remains a long term bet. Automotive/FSD could save the day if FSD is widely approved. Optimus will take even longer.

This is such an interesting reaction given Cybercab production has ALREADY started with no steering wheel. TSLA remains one of the best risk:reward stocks available.

Last year we were told autonomy probably a significant contributor to revenue late this year. This year we were just told autonomy probably a significant contributor to revenue next year 😂 Looks like the bears still gonna have their fun for the foreseeable future.

Yes the stock price will go up because analysts will rerate earnings upward because profits will be higher due to more revenue from car sales and FSD both in America and the ROW. Investors didn't like the micro factories needed to convert HW3 cars but if when they do that, they'll do it because it will increase profits.

Elon's presentation problem: 1) He solely and exclusively focuses on the technical side of things: This bores most people It makes them miss the NUMBERS which is the only thing that the analysts are focusing on In other words : it's a total miscommunication 2) He speaks with the "enthusiasm" that Pastors would manifest at a burial of mass shooting victims! Unbecoming as this is, it matters not if you have more than 1/2 day perspective on things. The stock will go up (maybe even tomorrow) in the next few days because: ALL the Q1 numbers are great and much better than expected Tesla has turned to corner even just for his (current) basic production (cars) Numbers are picking up and margins, among others, are remarkable in this business (ask all the "others" who are losing their shirts trying to build , an ever decreasing, number of EVs).

Think about what Elon has done here - when employing Americans seemed expensive and wrong, he did it with amazing foresight. Because now we have tarrifs, other companies get hit harder. And with patriotism returning, some people prefer to buy American. It would take competitors years to catch up if they even cared enough to try.

Volkswagen plans to cut its production capacity by another ‌one million cars, CEO Oliver Blume said. "On the one hand, we're investing heavily in products. At the same time, we've already taken extensive measures. We're currently looking ‌at cutting a further million units of capacity to reflect the global market situation," Blume said. Overall, Volkswagen aims to cut capacity to 9 million cars worldwide per year from originally 12 million, the CEO added.

@herbertong Elon said try robotaxi in Dallas or Houston. That would be virtually impossible with only one car. They probably have at least ten in each location.

HUGE. Many don't understand how Tesla could launch without safety monitors first. Remember, they have a lot of data already. Safety monitors are not needed. It's also crucial to understand no one is launching autonomy in a new area with only one car. They likely have at least ten already. Possibly as many as thirty. Finally, there is very little, other than caution, delaying them rolling out in many areas in Texas. This really could happen quite quickly. It might not happen quickly, but it's still very possible they are serving over half of the US population by year's end. And that would still be a year late.

A lot of investors still don't invest in Tesla because they think it's not that hard to compete. The reality is the best horse breeders could never have competed with Henry Ford over the long term. Initially it may have looked possible. Same with Tesla. They cannot now be caught.
