NFTs are supposed to be decentralized but Klara’s latest move reminds us how fragile liquidity can be. @Kindred_AI bought back their own NFTs, calling it a reward for early believers.
Sounds noble. But with 151 holders out of 1,000, a few wallets can control the floor. Unlike token buybacks, NFT buybacks in illiquid markets mostly inflate prices, not stabilize them.
The Klara giveaway is next week, and the team promises The real surprise is still coming.
Whether it’s marketing, hype, or genuine community care, the market will reveal the truth soon.

Kindred posted a statement of clarification, but honestly, I’m not convinced. They claim to have done a buyback and even posted a “1 ETH celebration” tweet. → There was no prior notice, and the announcement only came after someone pointed it out. → Currently, Klara has 151 holders out of 1,000 total NFTs. It’s important to note that token buybacks and NFT buybacks are fundamentally different. • Token Buyback A token buyback happens in a market with liquidity pools (LPs) or exchange listings. This means users can sell (exit) anytime. When a project buys back tokens: → Circulating supply decreases. → Price support effects appear immediately. For users, this is a stabilization measure in a liquid market. • NFT Buyback NFT markets usually have very low liquidity, making immediate sales difficult. If there are only 151 holders out of 1,000 NFTs, the buyback merely pushes up the floor price artificially. Unless the team keeps buying continuously, no one can really sell. → Any buyer is likely purchasing at inflated prices, set by the team itself. → Without a clear announcement, users may mistakenly assume the activity is organic and buy at higher prices. @Kindred_AI Without consistent buy-side demand, NFTs are effectively illiquid — you can’t cash out unless the project or a new buyer steps in. When ownership is concentrated among 151 holders out of 1,000 supply: → Market control is highly centralized. → A few whales or the team itself can manipulate prices. → Real liquidity only exists between those 151 wallets. So calling this a “buyback” doesn’t really mean supporting holders it’s a price illusion, not genuine market support.
