it was an easy read . a defensive arm was raised , moving constantly as means to throw off wether the slasher was going for something offensive or defensive . he too closed the distance , with the hidden goal of going for a blow to the ribs

Cole just observed silently, metallic fines wrapping around his own upper body and encasing him with a durable, golden suit of armor.
He did not morph his tonfas though. Not yet at least.
Then, he entered his own combat stance, attempting to close the distance so he was-
