This is the Condamine Alluvium.
It's the most productive Alluvium 💦 in the whole of Queensland.
It sits in the most productive agricultural 🌾 region in Queensland.
And yet, despite its immense value to the state, the @LNPQLD have decided that it's NOT WORTH the protections afforded to priority agricultural areas any more.
It's to be singled out as the ONLY priority agricultural area in Queensland that is NOT to have a Regional Interests Development Approval (RIDA) impact assessment applied under our State's planning laws for gas drilling.
But why might you ask?
Very good question, as I'm still baffled.
Could it be that they're trying to assist the export profits of a particular foreign-owned multinational gas company at the expense of the long-term sustainability and agricultural productive capacity of this region 🤔
If only we'd been thoroughly consulted in the lead up to the Bill, like the gas industry was. Some light might have been shed, but instead we farmers were treated like mushrooms 🍄 ... kept in the dark and fed ....
Very sorry to anyone that received a garbage message from me in the last couple of days. My account was stolen and it has taken me 3-4 days to recover it. First i knew was that i received an email saying the email to my account was changed, to somebody else. Keep security OK
I’d like to resume X’ing about grazing management this year- now as an inexperienced beef farmer in SW WA. Trying to get across the gap between the theory and the practice in this new business environment. Hope you’ll join me for the 26 season. Here’s the littlies atm.
UPDATE: Diesel price at my local petrol station in Darwin⛽️
March 1: $1.74/L
March 5: $1.99/L
March 13: $2.46/L
March 16: $2.66/L
March 18: $2.75/L
March 23: $2.95/L
That's a 70% increase since the start of March ⛽️
No fuel deliveries available out here at all next week. Suppliers saying they will get a little, they don’t know when, but being severely rationed. Rough road ahead.
This fuel shortage is being driven by panic buying. The govt needs to step in to ensure adequate supply to independent bulk distributors who farmers rely on for their fuel supplies.
No diesel = no food production & no food on supermarket shelves.
Food security should be as important as defence when it comes to national security.
And yet supply chain risks to essential farm inputs like fuel, fertiliser & chemicals have been swept under the too-hard-basket rug for way too long by successive governments.
Farmers fuel crisis: Food supply chain at risk as diesel cut off | The Courier Mail couriermail.com.au/news/australia…
dry as a bone, but with middle east stuff thought i should be proactive and make some calls Re: fert.
MAP: heaps in stock, essentially same price as last year.
UREA: Nil currently available, so can't give pricing.
Same response with 2 different suppliers.
What the heck, seriously in the suburbs now, street lights went up on a set of cross roads here.
I’m actually in a state of confusion and bewilderment at having street lights.

As a livestock farmer impacted by drought taking on extra debt, low interest or otherwise makes little sense to me. Especially when the admin and procedures put in place by Govt, make the process an extended nightmare.
Debt needs to be spent on $$ opportunities, not $$ pits

@AgForceQLD Years ago, farmers were told there was millions of dollars to combat feral pigs. SEQ. Then we had numerous workshops. But no $$ to the farmers. Where has that money at gone?
Don't forget to have your say on the draft Qld Feral Pig Management Action Plan 2026–2031 📣
The document is now open for public consultation until 12 March 📝

How many of you have a solar battery? My mum said she just bought one and it cost her over $11,000.
Are they worth it? Seems like a lot of money to spend. She said it will add value to her house.
@lawbal44@GusWhyte@Inland_Rail I don’t mind spending 💰on services but no business would waste the money that Inland Rail have in QLD. 10 years and you still can’t get it right.
I might be reading this wrong, I find it really offensive when Govts talk about the so called “cost of living crisis”, especially when they suggest they can fix it.
Every generation has been tough, what makes the current generation so entitled that life should be easy?
