@sarobertsonca Regardless of what you think of Pierre this interview statement just proves the guy is an idiot Moderate gun control, supportive of his gay Dad, hesitant for war etc… How would he do well on the US right wing circuit? What a dumb ass

Pierre needs to come to our level, realize we don't have those privileges and we fight tooth and nail for a very long time to get even just speech therapy. She's a very lucky girl her dad has that kind of money and connections she will do very well but that's not the real world

The biggest irritant is when he says just go out, get a speech therapist, we have a nest egg for her. Us parents of autistic kids don't have that privilege you do. Ironically yours came from taxpayers, us taxpayers have a MUCH harder time gaining resources @PierrePoilievre

Someone trained AI on her music, got a distributor for it, the distributor then copyright claimed her videos and music that the AI was trained on, effectively stealing her money. An absolute outrage, AI and AI powered scammers are strangling creatives.

Now this is one wild story. The amount of lawsuits coming down the pipeline with stories like this is going to be astronomical.

This is one of the very few things i appreciated about learning Catholicism The things not commonly taught Now maybe the Pope could apply this reality to the War with Iran That comment of his where he pretends Christ was all about fluffy goodness and the Pope ignored all the hard and difficult things necessary to bring about salvation to many He won't And many Catholics on here didn't call him to task That's why I left the Catholic Church Same problem Different time frame

Today is Holy Saturday, the day Jesus Christ descended into Hell. Modern Christians treat Holy Saturday like a quiet day off before Easter. They think Jesus was just sleeping in the dark. But in Catholic tradition we call today the Harrowing of Hell. While His physical body lay cold on the stone slab, Christ’s Spirit descended directly into the underworld. He went as a Conqueror. He shattered the bronze gates of Limbo, bound the enemy, and personally rescued the souls of the righteous Patriarchs: Adam, Abraham, Moses, David, and all the righteous dead who had been waiting for millennia. Today is a day of great Victory. Now we wait for the return of the King.

@cyber_razz I think your uncle is pulling your leg 😁 How can you see a burn cycle on the screen but nothing happened? Otherwise he would have just drag and dropped files and closed it, to get empty CDs

My uncle used to work in IT back when distributing software wasn’t as simple as sending a link. He told me a story I’ll probably never forget. They needed to send a software package to a client team, so he did what everyone did at the time, He burned it onto CDs. He approached it seriously. Organized the files properly. Verified everything. Took his time to make sure nothing was missing. Then he started the process. One disc at a time, watching the system go through what he believed was the full burn cycle. When each one finished, he labeled it neatly (version number, date etc). Everything you’d expect from someone who cared about doing the job right. He made multiple copies, packed them carefully, and sent them out. To him, the task was complete. A few days later, the responses started coming in. The discs weren’t working. At first, he assumed it was a mistake on the client’s end. That happens. But as more messages came in saying the same thing, he decided to check one of the remaining copies. He inserted the CD, opened it… and found nothing. No files. No folders. Completely blank. That’s when he realized what had happened. He had gone through the entire process but never actually finalized the burn. The files were never written to the discs. Everything else was done perfectly. But the one step that mattered most was missed. He told me that experience stuck with him more than any success he’d had. Not because it was a big failure but because it was a simple one. And from his experience those usually the ones that teach you the most in IT and life as a whole.

During the Cold War, the Soviet Union built the most heavily defended airspace on the planet. A 19 year old flew straight through it in a rented Cessna. His name was Mathias Rust. He originally rented the tiny single engine airplane in West Germany. But the actual breach started in Finland. On May 28, 1987, he took off from an airport in Helsinki. He told Finnish air traffic control he was heading to Stockholm. As soon as he was in the air, he turned off his communication equipment. He completely changed his course and pointed the plane directly toward Moscow. The Soviet border had thousands of surface to air missiles and overlapping radar stations. He just flew right past all of it. He flew low to avoid the radar. He followed railway tracks so he would not get lost. He flew straight into the capital. He circled the Kremlin. Then he literally landed his plane on a bridge right next to Red Square. Tourists just walked up and started asking him for autographs. Soviet military officials were completely humiliated. The entire top level of their defense command was immediately fired over the breach.

Elon Musk: "We'll have a voltage transformer shortage in a year, followed by electricity shortage." Elon said this two years ago, and we are now seeing it play out as per the Bloomberg article below. Transformer prices have doubled from 2020 and lead times stretched from weeks to 1-2 years, so grid connection wait times are measured in years now. As a result, half of the data centers scheduled for 2026 have been canceled or delayed. So, compute will remain supply constrained for the foreseeable future and prices will remain elevated. Cloud providers will sell every bit of capacity they can bring online. Never been this bullish on hyperscalers. $AMZN $MSFT $ORCL $NBIS $CRWV
Akshat Rathi@AkshatRathi

Half of US data centers planned for 2026 are expected to be delayed or canceled. One big reason is shortage of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear and batteries. US doesn't have manufacturing capacity, forcing it to rely on imports. 🎁🔗 bloomberg.com/news/features/…

I extended an invitation for the Vice Premier to visit Canada this fall.

Microsoft's stock just had its worst quarter since the 2008 financial crisis. Down 23%. Worse than every other Mag 7 name. And this screenshot explains why. Nadella started personally PM-ing Copilot in December. Told engineers the Outlook and Gmail integrations "for the most part don't really work." Held weekly grilling sessions with 100 senior engineers. Reshuffled Mustafa Suleyman out of consumer Copilot. Brought in a former Snap exec to run the whole thing. Then reorganized the entire AI division again two weeks ago. Four months of CEO-level intervention, and the AI still can't add a table to a Word document. Microsoft charges $30/user/month for this. 446 million M365 seats. 15 million have converted after two years. 3.3%. Of those, only 35.8% actively use it. That's ~5.4 million people paying $360/year for an AI that opens a browser tab when you ask it to edit the file you're in. Copilot's paid subscriber share dropped from 18.8% to 11.5% in six months. Gemini passed it. Their fix? A $99/user/month E7 tier in May. Same broken product, 65% more expensive, sold to the CIO who will never personally ask Copilot to insert a table. Yesterday the stock popped because Microsoft's $13.8B in OpenAI turned into a $135B stake. A 10x return on paper. The market celebrated. But that gain is an accounting event. The product you ship to 446 million users is the business. Meanwhile, Anthropic went from $61B to $380B in under a year. $19B in annualized revenue. 120+ features shipped in 90 days. Claude writes directly into your document, your codebase, your spreadsheet. The dollars flowing out of Microsoft's market cap are flowing into companies where the AI actually modifies the file.
Daniel Lemire@lemire

I am in Microsoft Word. I press Copilot. I ask for a table. The AI can't modify the Word document so it creates a new document in the cloud. It then allows me access the document through a link. Presumably I am supposed to go there, copy the table and put it in my Word document myself. Who designed this ? This is so obviously a low-effort implementation that I am baffled. It is almost as if they wanted to fail. Why can't Microsoft see that having direct access to Microsoft Word is an incredible edge that they could leverage to embed the AI directly? It is almost comical.
