@karsten_frank There are good writers, but it is definitely not the primary means through which the game is discussed. Honestly, from a “meeting your audience where it exists” point of view, I think FaB is better off for being mostly YT/social media based, but as an old, I am personally sad.

@BryanGo Well, in Magic, at least, and in Lorcana to a lesser extent. I can't speak to FaB and other TCGs. Is it worse there?

I miss long-form articles about TCGs

@HowlingMines It is not a specific type of article or any other thing that I think is missing. It’s the fact that the majority of TCG culture and discourse was driven by a slower, more thoughtful medium. A lot of writers (yourself included) do great individual work.

@BryanGo I'd personally love to hear a little more about exactly what you miss. Always looking for more ways to make what people want.💜

@DroodHT It’s simple to me—give the info I would like if I was a player. Also understand you can’t give 100% of context so there will always be room for people to willfully misinterpret what you are saying. You can only “counter” that by building a reputation for being honest/forthcoming.

I'm pretty far from the game to fully understand what these bannings really mean for the FaB meta but I'm reposting this to say the write ups from @BryanGo are always top notch and give you a good insight on LSS reasoning. Take notes other TCGs this is how you do it.

@satyr_wayfinder It’s my 5 mana turn so I do this, then my opponent is on their 6 mana turn and can do this and this, so then on my seven mana turn I will do this or this or this… and also none of this matters because of my 10 mana turn. One Piece is the biggest offender in this category

@BryanGo Can you elaborate more on what the Same Problem is?

There are hundreds of games that use Magic’s mana system “but fixed” (every big release in the last year) and they are all very boring and have the exact same problem. I find screw/flood impossible to go back to now, but I’m simultaneously convinced Magic-likes don’t work w/o it.
